What Does This Mean? A Lenten Look at the Cross: The Enduring Model of Discipleship

What is the enduring model of discipleship? It is to deny the primal, but fallen, instinct to prioritize our own security and self-interest, and to instead voluntarily choose to imitate what Jesus did on the cross. Thus the cross becomes not only something Jesus did for us, but also the pattern that we as his disciples are to follow.
