What is a podcast?
A podcast is an archive of an audio show that is syndicated on the internet. A podcast could be a radio show, a news broadcast, a band showcasing its latest music, or, in the case of Word of Life Church, a weekly audio broadcast of our weekend sermons. Using software called podcast clients (such as iTunes), you can have these services automatically downloaded to your computer whenever they become available.
Do I need an iPod to receive podcasts?
No. You do not need an iPod to listen to podcasts. Podcasts are merely text files telling your computer where to download an audio file. All that is required from you is a broadband internet connection and podcast client software.
What podcast software do you recommend?
Use of the WOLC podcast requires the use of a podcast client which will download the files for you automatically. There are a number of podcast clients available on the internet. Word of Life Church recommends the use of the free iTunes Player from Apple.
I’ve got my podcast client. What now?
Once you have downloaded and installed iTunes, you may use this link to access the podcast. When you click this link, it will open the iTunes software and take you to the WOLC podcast. Click the SUBSCRIBE button to subscribe to this free service. If you are using a podcast client other than iTunes, your podcast client will need to access the podcast file directly. This file can be accessed at: http://feeds.feedburner.com/wolcpodcast/
What does it cost for me to subscribe to the WOLC podcast?
The podcast distributed by Word of Life Church is free. You may download it, listen to it, burn it, and share it for free. If you would like to support the ministry of Word of Life Church, you can do so through our online giving.
