The Upper Room

“On your walls, O Jerusalem; I have set watchmen. All day and all night, they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, do not keep silent and give Him no rest until He establishes, until He makes Jerusalem a praise in all the earth.” Isaiah 62:6-7

At midnight on November 1, 2003, Pastor Brian Zahnd’s vision of a “Tabernacle of David” prayer and worship center was fulfilled with the dedication of The Upper Room Prayer & Worship Center. The Upper Room was dedicated to be:

  • A house of prayer for all nations.
  • A tabernacle of David for worship.
  • A thin place for the “one thing man and woman.”

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27:4

The Upper Room

The Upper Room, built with beautiful Jerusalem stone and cedar wood, is a place of awe and wonder. It is a “thin place”, an ancient Celtic term to describe a sacred space for connecting our lives to divine grace.

You may come into The Upper Room alone for a time of solitude, meditation, or Bible reading; or participate in a gathering for corporate prayer, worship, and communion.

The Upper Room is home to:

  • Wednesday noon prayer, worship, and communion
  • Prophetic prayer every New Year
  • A devotional journey through the cross during Lent
  • City-wide prayer meetings
  • Special services for worship and the arts
  • Weekly staff chapel
  • The people of Word of Life Church

The Upper Room is open during the following hours for personal prayer and devotions:

  • Sunday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Monday Closed
