The Upper Room Prayer & Worship Center
For some seventeen years Pastor Zahnd has carried in his heart a vision of a "Tabernacle of David", a 24 hour prayer and worship center at Word of Life Church. On November 1, 2003 at midnight this vision was fulfilled with the dedication of the new Upper Room Prayer & Worship Center. These are exciting days at Word of Life indeed! Pastor Zahnd dedicated the Upper Room in three different ways. He dedicated it as:
- A house of prayer according to Isaiah 56:7. "For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."
- A tabernacle of David according to Acts 15:16. "After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up."
- A place of the "one thing man and woman," according to Psalm 27:4. "One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple."
Now that this place of reverence has been dedicated the Lord has began calling together a band of watchmen - a group of people who stand on the walls of His city and peer out into the darkness. This truly is a holy place, set apart for the Lord.
The Upper Room is open 24 hours a day for personal prayer and devotions. There is a night watchman on duty. Throughout the week, there are various special prayer meetings and themed devotional times scheduled.
